4 Tips When Installing Wastewater Tanks
0
When installed correctly, concrete wastewater tanks can last for many years. Listed below are some installation tips that will help make your tank operate trouble-free for years to come:
- Place the tank in a location that the vacuum truck can access without obstructions; this will mitigate the risk of the truck getting too close to the tank, adding extra stress on the tank walls from the weight of the truck.
. - Be sure to review the earth cover rating of the tank to ensure it will be able to support the depth needed for your sewer outlet pipe. Placing the tank too deep could cause the tank to prematurely fail.
. - When applying butyl sealant tape around joints, follow the manufacturer's suggested recommendation. Improper application could result in water infiltration or sewage exfiltration, leading to costly replacement.
. - Bed the bottom of the excavation with 6 inches of 1 inch washed rock. This will create a solid base for the tank to sit on, preventing uneven pressure from large rocks or chunks of clay.
